AFTERNOON SUMMER SOCIAL
The
best
programme
guides
tell
us
not
to
choose
dances
by
their
title
but
2020
will
be
remembered
as
being
the
year
where
none
of
the
usual
rules
applied
so
today
we
will
have
a
romp
through
dances
which
most
of
us
have
never
done,
but
it
is
quite
likely
that
everyone
will
see
at
least
one
which
they
may
want
to
try
for
themselves one day. A long programme so pace yourself and sit one out when you want - no-one will notice.
As usual, click on anything underlined and I hope you enjoy yourself!
Amanda Peart
Welcome
to
this
Summer
Social
.
We
will
have
some
dancing,
some
eating,
a
drink
or
two and enjoy the afternoon!
You
can
see
outside
in
the
garden
we
have
the
Barton
Barbecue
being
fired
up,
the
Sausage
Machine
busy
and
in
the
corner
a
Lobster
in
the
Pot
,
as
well
as
the
usual bring & share items.
Hard to concentrate on dancing with
Smouldering Teapots
,
Grinding Coffee
,
the smell of
Neaps
an’
Haggis
, and … oops! catch that jug …
The Buttermilk Falls
.
Did
I
hear
someone
suggest
A
Wee
Dram
before
Tea
–
Johnnie
Walker
or
A
Gin
&
Tonic
and
some
Mixed Nuts
?
Everything Stops for Tea
We’ll start our afternoon’s dancing with
Sunshine
&
Sweetie’s
Jig
, hoping for plenty of both today.
Now,
you
never
know
what
will
be
on
the
tea
table
at
these
dances,
but
most
of
these
offerings
seem
to
be
on
the
sweet
side … I spy some bread – but it’s a
Marmalade Sandwich
,
and there is
Homemade Jam
to go with the
Cream Tea
.
Have a
Piece of Cake
or slice of
Cranberry Tart
before moving on to pudding …
I
think
we
are
all
enjoying
ourselves
–
there
is
an
interesting
discussion
going
on
about
Red
Wine
&
Straight
Lines
–
they
don’t
sound
very
compatible
to
me,
so
it
just
remains
for
me
to
announce
A
Dance
to
Say
Thank
You
to
everyone, not forgetting
The After Supper Sweeper
.
